Acciona Open de España 2021 – Thursday and Friday tee times; some mouth-watering groups!

While the players were concentrating on their second day of practice, the tee times were announced for the first two rounds of the ACCIONA Open de España presented by Madrid, and there are plenty of enticing groups for fans to follow. Remember, there will be a morning and afternoon session, with those that tee off in the morning on Thursday starting in the afternoon on Friday, and vice versa.

The tournament gets underway on Thursday morning with a number of stellar groups, starting with two Ryder Cup players (Rahm and Wiesberger) who will share their morning with Victor Pérez, one of the best players in the world, who was also on the verge of making Team Europe.

The second of the big groups includes Ryder Cup vice-captain and ex-world number 1, Luke Donald, who will be joined by Danish star Olesen and the Spanish Sebastian Garcia, a clear nod from the European Tour to Madrid, Garcia’s home city.

The third match includes one of the home favourites Pablo Larrazábal, who is among the top 40 in the 2021 Race to Dubai, Englishman Marcus Armitage and Frenchman Antoine Rozner. In the Thursday afternoon session (and on Friday morning), the cameras will be focused on the rest of the favourites, who are concentrated into three groups. At 13:40, Adrián Otaegui, Scottish player Callum Hill and the Italian Guido Migliozzi will kick off their campaigns in a group of European Tour winners, with six victories between them.

They are followed by two Spaniards, Jorge Campillo and Adri Arnaus, who will join young Danish player Nicolai Hojgaard, a winner a few weeks ago. Arnaus finished in fourth place here two years ago, while Campillo is always among the top Spaniards. The third star group of the afternoon includes 2019’s runner-up, Rafa Cabrera-Bello, Richard Bland and Min Woo Lee, both of whom are in the top 10 of the 2021 Race to Dubai.

The groups to watch on Thursday and Friday are as follows:

    9:30/14:00- Jon Rahm-Bernd Wiesberger-Victor Pérez

    9:40-14:10 Luke Donald-Sebas García-Thorbjorn Olesen

    9:50-14:20 Pablo Larrazábal-Marcus Armitage-Antoine Rozner

    13:40/9:10- Adrián Otaegui-Callum Hill-Guido Migliozzi
